Hiya, warrior! Glad to see you here at Al's Place. Believe me, you'll probably get more, or at least *better*, replies here compared to scifi.com

I really love your "Rock This Town" video. It's brilliant!

So, how goes your efforts concerning A&O?

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Hi tina-- long time, no see! I'm glad to have joined this board (I really don't post much on the BBoard now since the troll epidemic and since I've been preoccupied with other matters needing my attention.). I hope everyone likes the "Rock This Town" video and the QL:A&O trailer as much as you and alsplacebartender do! (I wrote a response to your post on the Sci-Fi BBoard, alsplace. ;) ) I try my best!
If you liked those videos, I would also highly recommend seeing the Enterprise video "Tightrope." Even if you're not a fan, you still get to see Bakula in action through most of it, and it gives those an idea of what the show is like who have never seen it. Plus, who could turn down a cool song by ELO? :) By the way, does anyone know of any good sites or boards that I may be able to spread the word around about the Enterprise video? Since I'm also an Enterprise fan, I wanted to try to get the word out about the video and get some feedback on it. The one thing that I really try to get, but usually don't get, is the audience's response to the videos we put up on the site, so if you enjoy the videos we showcase, please do not hesitate to let us know!
Concerning Quantum Leap: The Alpha & The Omega, I just submitted the script into the Writer's Guild and am now in the process of looking for literary agents! :) Things are looking up! By the way, if anyone knows of any good agents looking for new writers, let me know- LOL. I'll keep you posted on any further developments. Thanks for the inquiry, tina! (More info on QL:A&O can be found at She's Electric's site.) Hope to hear more from you guys soon! LEAP ON!!!!!!!

Re: QL & Enterprise Music Videos Now Open at She's Elect

Hiya Laura,:wavey love the videos, they're so kewl. 8) I've added a link to She's Electric on my site, in the Admiral's Lair >> music videos section, where your "MIA Video" still resides, along with one I made earlier this year "Tribute2QL"

Link: Music Videos

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Hey Warrior, welcome to Al's Place!! I downloaded your videos today (the Enterprise and QL ones), and hope to watch them this weekend... :D

If you're looking for a place to talk about Enterprise, and get word out about your video, check out Star Trek for Leapers (com2.akheva.com/bstartrekforleapers).The name is pretty self-explanitory. ;)

By the sounds of it, I'm in for a treat when I watch these. ^_^

... Mike. ^_^

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Hi warrior!

It's me! Haven't seen you on Yahoo in a wee while. I'm glad you've finally taken my advice and joined Al's Place messageboard. Didn't I tell you it's far better than jamokies.com as The Rod puts it. The Rod!! That's right you haven't met him yet! I'll leave that surprise for you later warrior!

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

welcome to the site warrior... I haven't seen it yet, cause geocities is being a 'butt'...

Brian, any hope of uploading these on your site as a .zip file??

Matt

P.S Sorry for my long absence. Health issues.

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Brian, may I make a suggestion?

How's about a separate section in 'Your Videos Library' for the QL Music Videos made by Al's Place members?

They're all wonderful.

Up to you though, this is just a suggestion Brian, I don't want to step on any more toes this month.

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Actually, it's a good idea.... if I was rich lol.

I have been incurring some overage fees lately $20 here, $30 there as the site is becoming quite huge and visited so much. I'm going to keep adding one video a week like I have been, but as far as opening it up for everyone, I just can't unless someone knows of a FREE file hosting site that I can put the videos on.

:helpme

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Try: www.1asphost.com/

100mb (free) space, No hotlinking allowed though and only 1 account/site per ISP# unlimited file size uploads, unlimited bandwidth

Then there's: www.webspace-empire.com/

200mb (free) space, doesn't say anything about hotlinking, limited to 400k uploads, multiple accounts, unlimited bandwidth.

Both are worth checking out.

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Would that be considered storage if you have a page with that particular host where you provide downloads to the public?

I always thought that "storage" meant just to put a file into your site's directory without linking to the outside world... like, using it as a personal hard drive.

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Ok.............. WOW...............

I'm a little late in finally getting to watch the musical tributes to Enterprise and Quantum Leap but it was definitely worth the wait!

Thank you ladies at "She's Electric" for all their hard work in putting these together. I wish that I knew how you do that...

You gals have talent. :)

MJ

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Yeah Joy, I could have a page there I guess, but that's not really the way I'd want to do it. It's easy for me to upload stuff right now all to one central place but if I start getting into using lots of servers with different names, it gets complicated and with the size of Al's Place's more than 500 pages, it's already quite a job to keep everything together and running smoothly.

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

You can add my music video and link to my web page Brian homepage.ntlworld.com/s.johnson7/ if it would save to signing up for a new account.

LoL, I've got over 1,800 pages on my site, just did a count, though some are i frames, unbelievable:rollin

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

Ooooo, thankies Brian :wavey

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated :bs

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

I hear ya Brian... I really do!

SOoooooo, what's the current 'kitty' for the "board support" money looking like? I remember it's like $30.00 every six months for that, right? So we're talking double the money!

I'd say $5.00 a month is a small price to pay

I do it for my karaoke site, and people LOVE it!... it's worth it's weight in gold!

This is where I go from being the fat, dumb happy guy to being a pain 'n the keister!

Guys, it takes MONEY to run a website! Brian's been VERY kewl for the past two years running this site. He's getting a deal from his "contacts", but he's still gotta pay for bandwidth and storage! If everybody likes it so much here, cough up a dollar to help the costs that we ALL take for granted!!

Big hugs bro. YOU TELL US what we can do to help!

Matt

P.S. Where's that link again to do the contributing?

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

www.knightshow.com

it's info on my karaoke company, not where you can SING karaoke online! LOL!

For that, you want "singtotheworld.com"

Re: "Rock This Town" Video!

No it's fine Matt but thanks!

The website (not the board) costs $100 per year for all I want to do with it. I don't want to add to that, but I enjoy doing it and you guys seem to really enjoy it, so that keeps me going!

If someone wants to donate to the site or the board, they can do so of course. The board is paid for until October 26th, 2004 so there's a whole year left for this board with all the features it has now. This board won't be disappearing at all, that's for sure!

The site can be donated to by going to the "Contact" page and pressing the paypal button.

Please no one send money so that I'll put more videos up lol. I have a lot to do in both life and online. I will continue to grow the website of course, but time has become limited so additional fees, webservers, etc would be additional work that I just don't have the time to get involved with. I love doing this, don't get me wrong! But I have to pace myself to keep myself out of this chair for days on end lol!

Thanks guys!
