Not sure if this is old news, but for anyone who hasn't read it, just been having a read through some of the things about the movie. Bakula said a little bit more about it earlier last year.

A bit of extra news to report on that Quantum Leap movie. Moviehole revealed late last year that the new film will feature bigger stars, but not the original actors. However, they now report that the original stars, Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell, will feature in cameo roles in the new film. The original Quantum Leap creator, Donald Bellisario, is writing the script. Bakula told New York Magazine that his only wish is for the film to be "great".

I would say that about 80 percent of the movies made from TV shows that way are flops, and you wouldn't want to see that happen to this franchise. It still has a big following, it's a great memory for so many people, so my hopes are high that if they do it, it's great.

Quantum Leap was a science fiction TV show broadcast in the US from March 1989 to May 1993. Bakula starred as Dr. Sam Beckett, a scientist who becomes lost in time following a time travel experiment. Dean Stockwell co-starred as US Navy Rear Admiral Albert Calavicci, who appears to Sam as a hologram that only Sam can see or hear.

Should be intriguing to see what they can do with it. Hopefully it's nothing like the Lost in Space remake.

Still seems to be a big "if" factor, as to whether or not the movie will happen.
