Cocono's in the Poconos
At long last, the new season of Battlestar Galactica is starting on Friday, April 4, at 10 p.m. (EDT) on the SciFi channel. (Check your local schedules as always.) They're only showing a batch of 10 episodes at this time, so it should be running weekly into June. (I think it will also be shown in Canada and the UK, but I haven't looked up the details.)

I still don't know if Dean Stockwell appears in the season opener, or which episodes he's in. But he definitely does appear this season. Some cool clips here:

*Rumor* has it that these clips come from the first two episodes. But previews I've read don't even mention a Cylon storyline. So it's anybody's guess. Also--the first episode is supposed to be available online at the SciFi Channel

on April 4 at noon, I think. I haven't been able to load their video player lately, so I may have to wait for the good ol' VCR. If anybody can watch it, let us know if Dean appears!

Bumping this up to say that Dean Stockwell will be in this week's episode of Battlestar, "Six of One." Friday, April 11 at 10 p.m. Eastern.

Also, the episode will be streamed online at noon Eastern on the SciFi Channel site. This is pretty cool, 'cause you don't have to stay up late, and you don't have to get the SciFi Channel--but I think you do have to be in the US. Sorry, all you Braussies. I don't have the exact link yet, but try this:

Also, Dean will be appearing at a con called Trek Expo in Tulsa, OK, June 6-8:

If anyone's able to go, have fun! Richard Herd (Capt. Galaxy) will be there too. I hope he and Dean get to have a chat.

Whoa! I think I'd rather attend that convention than Shore Leave! I wonder if I can manage it? Is anyone else thinking of going and maybe need a roomie or something? No guarantees, but this sounds great, and I'd like to attend if I can.

Dean will be appearing on next week's episode too, Friday April 18 at 10 p.m. Eastern. It's called "The Ties That Bind." The trailer's up:

Good luck with the video player. Some people have had trouble with it. But anyway, the episode is a hum-dinger. Enjoy!

Well, I saw an Intel commercial twice, and then I saw the first 7:47 of the episode. Then the player froze. Now this computer is running really really slowly. I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD. :\

Oh, and the volume was quite low, even after turning up the computer volume and the speaker volume. I had already pulled the player's volume slider all the way out to the max. So I missed some dialogue, as well.

On a positive note, the episode looked good, from what I saw.

Apparently Skiffy (SciFi) is still working the bugs out. Numerous people complained that the live stream lagged or wouldn't work. (It lagged a bit for me but was watchable.) So this week they're streaming the new episode all day, every hour from 9 am to 4 pm. (I assume, to reduce the load on the servers.)

The eps. do include commercials, but it's a lot less than in a live TV broadcast.

Dean Stockwell will appear on Battlestar Galactica again this Friday, June 6, at 10 p.m. Eastern. This half of the season is ending next Friday, the 13th. After that... the final 10 episodes of the series haven't been scheduled yet.
