Not only did I settle for the bastardized version of Quantum Leap Season 3, but when I got home and popped it in to watch the two leaps home, I was disgusted to find out I had bought a faulty set.
It froze up right before Tia Carrere's character is killed in "The Leap Home Part II" It completely froze up my player. I put it in another player and got the same results. I was furious.
If memory serves, there were some folks who purchased Season 2 and had some troubles with it. Poor playaTypical, really. Universal has really dropped the ball on their Quantum Leap sets. And, as fans, our hands are really tied because no matter how many internet petitions we sign, Universal wil never release the original episodes with the original tunes, because the bottom line is that it's just too expensive. And, if fans don't buy these butchered versions, they'll just stop manufacturing new season sets altogether and then we'll have nothing at all.
It looks as if we can't win this battle. Maybe Sam will leap into the head of the home video department at Universal and put this wrong right. Or not.
