"The Person Below Me"(TPBM)

Re: Mitten State!

Sturgis, Michigan. It's in the southwestern corner of the state, very close to (about 6 miles or so from) the Indiana state line. It's about 50 miles from Kalamazoo.

Brrrr

You definatly would know about blizzards then. Damn lake effect snow!

Re: TPBM

TPBM has lived through extreme weather conditions caused by cold (i.e. snow storm, (I know it has already been said, but blizzard counts as well), ice storm, floods caused by rivers blocked with ice, bitter colds which makes it impossible to go out from your house (-35 degrees celsius and below, not including wind factor), etc.)

******
I've already responded to a similar question (2 or 3 posts above), but I'll post again.

A couple of years after the blizzard of 1978, my home town was hit with a nasty snow storm with temperatures that covered every street in town and all the roads in the surrounding area with glare ice for about 2 or 3 days. If any of you have ever driven (or tried to drive) on glare ice without the benefit of snow tires or chains on your tires, you'll know exactly what I mean when I use the term 'nerve-wracking'.

---------

TPBM has voted in at least 2 presidential elections.

Re: TPBM

That's why I'm so glad to live in a subtropical climate! :lol

As for the question: True. Only once did my vote actually do the right thing (in my opinion :lol )

TPBM has met a President while they were in office.

TPBM played Atari 2600 when it was new.

TPBM...collects something not associated with a TV show or movie

Re: TPBM

False. I'm not a collector of things per se.

----

TPBM has written two or more Quantum Leap fan-fiction stories.

Re: TPBM

True, I have two VS stories in the Season 10 archives, and a novella at Al's fanfic page.
I have a half dozen or more in various stages of completion, and countless other ideas swimming around in the background.

TPBM could make Quantum Leap their specialist subject on Mastermind.

Re: TPBM

False, although I was supposed to be on September 3 when he's in Taos... however, that's my departure date to Seoul, so I won't be able to meet him.

Re: TPBM

True. I've written one article for GuestVision.

TPBM played a computer game "way back when" with a little orange train that made a track around the screen and you had to keep it from crashing into its own track.

Re: Nope

True, absolutely true...

I have dreamt of being Spider-Man :leap quite a few times, and if I remember, I even dreamt being a Power Ranger  when I was a kid...

Re: Nope

I live in a different state than the teams I root for...but if meeting players from my fave team a couple of times applies, well then yes it's true...

For anyone who knows baseball, I met and actually chatted with (and had picture taken with) Mike Lowell and Derrek Lee...although his english isn't good, I also got to meet Miguel cabrera (and non-team players, I met Mike Schmidt, Tony Perez, and Harmon Killebrew...and once I literally ran into Ozzie Smith in a narrow store doorway in Cooperstown)

TPBM once actually hung out with a famous celebrity (I had lunch once with Davy Jones)

Re: Nope

I had tea with Elizabeth Gracen (former Miss America and "Amanda" on Highlander) at a convention one time. I actually was lucky enough to be seated at her table, though she later made the rounds. We shared dog stories.

TPBM has been on TV.

Re: TPBM

True.

My 30 *seconds* of, and I use this term very, very loosely :b , 'fame' came when I appeared with my boss in a commercial he had made to advertise his services (he's a lawyer). The ad only ran a handful of times, on WHNO TV-20 - New Orleans, a local Christian station, about 10-12 years ago.

TPBM has been a member of Al's Place since the beginning.

Re: TPBM

True! I remember when Al's Place was in its first version, way back when Seth Argabright's Darpa PQL site was up (I think it's back now). I first discovered Al's Place by following the links from Seth's site to the novel reviews on Al's Place....

Later, I gave Brian my Leaping Links page, and the rest, they say, is history!

TPBM has seen the 1993 movie "Rigoletto" (*not* associated with the opera), starring Joseph Paur; made by Feature Films for Families.

Re: TPBM

False, but I'm very curious about it now.

TPBM has been to the world premiere of a movie.

Re: TPBM

Not entirely true...

I attended the premiere of Pocahontas in NYC when they took over the Great Lawn in Central park. It was a big event, though I don't think it was the world premiere.

TPBM has attended a Con (any kind) in costume
