As many of you know, I run an Independent Learning Centre within an English Upper School (13-18yr olds).
One of the conditions of the room states that students must sign in on entry, and sign out on exit.
The instruction normally reads:
Name
(Please print your full name in BLOCK CAPITALS)

but children being children, most of them don't read it and I get all sorts of scrawl.
So to teach them a lesson, today I substituted:
Name
(I agree to pay ?1 to Mrs Earl's FAVOURITE CHARITY)

During the morning, 39 pupils came into the room, and only one spotted the change. The rest all signed happily, and were amazed when I pointed out to them what they had put their names to.
3 even paid up!
Haven't they ever seen the Wyclef Jean ad?
Let this be a warning to you all.
Never put your name on a document you haven't read!

Happy April Fool's Day everybody!
