RIP John Ritter

I was shocked and sadded to hear about the untimely death of John Ritter last Thursday (11th September 2003). He shot to famous as Jack Tripper in the 70s TV hit Three's Company. He died while filming an episode of 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.

John was married to Amy Yasbeck who starred as Frankie Washarskie in the Quantum Leap episode Stand Up.

I was shocked and saddened as well. Mostly because of his age. He was born in 1948, which brings him just about a year older than my dad. John Ritter had a guest-appearance on NBC's Wings(1990-1997) playing the part of Casey Chappel's ex-husband, Stuart Davenport. Casey was played by Amy Yasbeck. I wonder what's going to happen to "8 Simple Rules...." the ABC sitcom in which he was the "father".
We love you John, but especially his family.

Gee, John Ritter WAS the same age as MY father...

I honestly can't see how the show can continue without him, since it basically WAS his show. I wouldn't be surprised if ABC attempts to recast the role, but without John Ritter... I just don't think it would work.

Oh well... farewell John... we'll miss you! Make 'em laugh up there, ya hear? :)

The time that John Ritter passed away in California, it was technically September 12 here in Chicago - ironically, the very same day that my dad passed away. :( Also, ironic, my dad had a birthday on September 3 (he was born in 1947), so he was a year older than John Ritter.

Well, back to funeral preparations . . .

Mr. Roberts (Stephanie's father)

Ah, you decided to announce it here, Steph...

Yeah, you mentioned it at TLC, so a few of us already knew about your father's passing. As I've said there and in an e-mail I sent you, my sincerest condolences to you and your family. I hope you can find some peace knowing that he's in a much better place now. As I've said before, I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Re: Mr. Roberts (Stephanie's father)

Hey Stef...

I'd heard about your dad a few days ago... I know you've been busy and you probably need time to yourself, but as I'd said in my message, we're here for you if you need us and you are in our thoughts. I am so sorry about your loss. :(
