Help with avatars please

I tried up loading a custom made one, it didn't work, so i then tried loading one up from a website but that didn't work. I feel so lost and blonde!

If somebody would be so kind as to offer help i would apreciate it so much.

Thanks for any response. I await someone, anyone's help.

"It didn't work".... What error message did you get? What happened? What kind of image is this? JPEG? GIF?

What website did you try to use an avatar from?

In your next post, click on Go Advanced and scroll down and click on the Manage Attachments button which will allow you to post your avatar image here where we can look at it and set it up for you.

Pretty cool avatars. I don't think vBulletin (the forum software we use) knows how to resize BMP files to the approved size.

I resized and converted them to JPEG for you here:

You should be able to copy and paste the URL to the avatar you like into the "Avatar" section of your My Settings area.

Thank you but i still can't do it, i went into properties to get the URL and pasted it but i didn't work. What am i doing wrong?

Aye as far as I know the GD functions of PHP can't manipulate BMP files.

hmm this is a stickler. for your information though i use paint to resize my images. it's really a lame program but it gets the job done and it does BMP.

i like your images, how did you make them?

sorry, i didn't reply, i didn't get a message report, darn thing. I didn't make the avatars a couple of people offered to have a go for me and made them.

Can you tell us exactly what steps you are trying to set them as your Avatar?

If there is a particular one you want me to set as your Avatar, I can got into the control panel for ya.

well i went into my settings, clicked edit avatar and changed it to custom avatar and up loaded the image, mostly trying to put the Oh boy Sam avatar in but as yet nothing. :-)

I'm sure you're doing the right thing, but just to be sure...

1. Go here.
2. Make sure (*) Use Custom Avatar is set.
3. Under Enter Avatar URL:, remove the http://www. and paste one of these URLs:

i dont think so, i tried one but it said this message "you are no allowed to have animated images" i think it was.

Since this thread is already here, I'll "piggyback" off of it. I don't have image editing software, but I want to edit an image. Can someone help me? It's just an easy crop. I can post it here, or email it or pm it to whomever wants to help. Thanks in advance!
