Well I got to ask Don Bellisario about this as i got his autograph. It turns out he does not have any family with that name. He just really likes that name a lot!
" Tom is just a great name! Tom is the name of a Hero! You don't want to name a hero Percy or something"
Yes my name is Tom. So when he told me that I had a big grin on my face!

The neat thing is that Don seemed to INSTANTLY know what I was talking about. It wasn't a random coincidence which I picked up on.
It was a choice that he often made and was aware off.
Funny, my heroes growing up were named Sam and Al.
Oh, and Clark.... I think you know who he is!
I know its just an meaningless thing that Don likes my name. But it touched me. It caused me to think about my Grandfather whom I am named after. He died when I was only about a year old. He served in WWII. He was among the first American soldiers who saw the concentration camps. My Mom says it haunted him for the rest of his life but he rarely talked about it. So Don is right Tom is the name of a Hero. My Grandfather Tom Wylie.
