		Sam and Al are linked via their mesons and neurons, which are physical entities. If Sam does not leap physically then this would be lost. Sam knows 11 languages - seven modern and four dead. Oh, and he reads hieroglyphics too. The fact that certain individuals, including himself can see Sam indicates that there is something behind the aura for them to see. When a leapee returns they return with a Swiss cheese like memory recalling some of Sam's memories. A lot of leapee's think that they have been abducted by aliens. Children and animals can sometimes see Al because they are in a natural alpha state. Sam's lifetime is determined by his perception and not by actual time. Sam has leaped outside the US a total of seven times. He's been to Vietnam, The Bermuda Triangle, Egypt, Japan, The USSR, The Aegean Sea and The U.K. For Sam gaps are instantaneous but at PQL it has been said that there have been gaps in time as long as six days. Al initially would see the leapee until Sam leaped into a gorgeous woman prompting him to tell Gooshie to reconfigure the IC so that he would see only Sam. Ziggy is hooked up to every major data base in the 90's, that is how he is able to access so much information. Gooshie is Ziggy's programmer, a short guy with bad breath. Ziggy was originally a male and then Bellisario decided to make her a her. Bellisario rationalized this by calling it PCR-Post Creative Rationalization. Quantum Leap is also a comic book based on the series. Al used to have pet cockroach named Kevin. One Halloween episode is related to strange events such as VCR/cable/local station failure. (it's bad luck to name this episode) After one leaper referred to it by its title, he lost his job. Scott Bakula played Annie Pott's ex-husband in "Designing Women." Scott Bakula was nominated for a Tony in 1998 for his work on "Romance, Romance." QL ran for a total of 95 episodes.
