Hello,

I know I haven't posted for a long time, but I have been reading the board regularly, so I'm aware of most of what's happening in here.

I noticed that more than a few new members appeared (probably because of Season 3 coming out on DVD) and I just wanted to welcome everyone of you into this great family of fans that we are. I hope you will have a great time here and that you will appreciate the company of us nutcases <img border=0 src="http://www.knightshow.com/smilies/nut.gif" /> <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif" />
Also, if you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask, we will try our best to answer... and hope we won't make you even more confused than you were before we tried answering, LOL <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif" />

For a little information about me, my name is Clara and I am from Montreal, Quebec, in Canada. I have been a member here for a year and a half, after having donated the script to Mirror Image that is available somewhere on Al's Place website. I am 22 years old and am moving out from my parent's home on July 1st (so that means I won't be as available until things settle down again). I became a fan about in 1999 when the Space (equivalent to Sci-Fi channel in Canada) started showing re-runs of Quantum Leap. I work for the Young Canada Works program (see www.ycw.gc.ca for more info about what the program does). I will begin studying Geography in University in September. Finally, I am planning to visit my friend Mike (also a member of this site) in August for a few days as my first vacation apart from the family.

Also, for those newer fans of the show that have not seen past S3, I wanted to offer my help in watching the show. I have downloaded all the episodes from the Internet and am willing to send them to anyone who would like over MSN. My address is clara5_@hotmail.com. Granted, the quality is not awesome, and I need replacements for some episodes but I guess it's better than having to wait 6 months... I might also be able to make DVDs out of them (data ones, however), but you have to give me some time as I already promised a copy for someone else, and myself, and my DVD burner seems to go very slow for these...

I hope this helps you, and I wish you a big and warm welcome to all of you again.

Hope to see you soon!

Clara

P.S. You can use this thread to introduce yourself to the community here... why make an off-topic post when this would be the perfect place to do it! :)

I was looking for just the right topic to inroduce myself, thank you clara5 :) .

I have been a QL fan for about oh 6 or 7 years now. I missed the first run but mangaed to catch it in re runs and fell in love with the show.

I have been searching for a friendly place to discuss the show and luckily it looks like I found it :D .

I am looking forward to getting to know some fellow leapers.

:wavey Hi! I've been lurking for a while, ever since I found out that the destroyed "MIA" on the DVDs, but I only just today actually registered. It's been a while since I had a fun forum like this and I decided to give it a try while I have the leisure time. As usual, the QL bunch is as varied as they are interesting...

Hello,

I guess I haven't introduced myself prior to participating in this forum. Well, I'll start by saying that I've been a QL fan since the series premiere. To this day, I believe that it is the best TV series I've ever enjoyed watching.

My name is Lily. I am 45 years old, married, have 3 children, and two Shih Tzus. I live in Southern California. I am a registered nurse, who used to be a research chemist. My husband is a chemistry professor. My first love was Mr. Spock of Star Trek so, as you can imagine, I am a pushover for science geeks/nerds/intellects (And Sam Beckett is among the best).

I am so happy to be among you. I really enjoy reading the threads.

Pardon my reply following my own post...but I just realized that while I had put an intro to myself in a separate thread, I never duplicated it here. :D

I'm Jennie. I'm 31....work in financial services and write in my spare time. I've loved QL since 1994....so, as you can probably guess, 99% of my viewing was in syndication. Al is my favorite character--so that makes me an Al-coholic. <g>

If you can't tell from my avvy and the quotes in my sig I'm also a big Disney nut. Firm believer in the power of prayer....and pixie dust. :D

:wavey

I'll post another intro to myself. My name is Sarah and I'm from the grand state of Oklahoma. I'll be a senior in high school next year, and you could say I'm a geek. I was introduced to Quantum Leap when my mom bought my dad season one for Christmas....my little and brother and I became hooked and we convinced Mom and Dad to buy the second, and when it came out, the third season. I'm also a huge Disney fan, and will be making my 5th trip to WDW in about two months. My favorite band is Off Kilter, a Celtic band that plays at the Canada pavillion in Epcot. I don't think I have a favorite between Sam and Al, although I do find myself leaning to the Al side now and again :b

And that's enough rambling for me!

Well, I guess I should introduce myself. I'm 36 and from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Right now I'm between jobs but, previous to that, I was a Mapping Specialist at a commercial real estate company.

I've enjoyed Quantum Leap since it's original run on NBC but my interest in it was sort of reborn when I bought the Season One DVD set on a whim a couple of months ago.

In addition to Quantum Leap I'm also a huge fan of improv comedy and can often be found travelling the Eastern Seaboard going to live improv shows - particularly those done by Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood. I also have a couple of websites that I work on in my free time - one of which is used to help promote Colin's and Brad's show.

Sarah!!!!! I *love* Off Kilter!!!!!! Got my picture made with them in January and they signed it on my May trip!!! :D They are PHENOMENAL!!!!

When are you going?? I'm three months out from my next trip. (Parents gave me an Annual Pass for my birthday last year. <g>) And....all important question....where are you staying? ;) Where are you eating? Have you made any PS's yet? I get to make mine for breakfast at Animal Kingdom on the 23rd--hoping for an 8 AM at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. (aside: I'm a moderator on a Disney planning site....trust me, these are important questions. <g>)

particularly those done by Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood

Julia---I adore Colin Mochrie!!!!! Would LOVE to see him live, but he doesn't appear to make it to the Gulf South very often.

I'm a huge Whose Line Is It Anyway? fan! Those guys are hysterical and I still think it's one of the funniest shows on television. Colin and Ryan's chemistry is great. I think humor is at its best when it's spontaneous and improvised.

I was waiting a little bit for more new members to post in here before I greeted everyone. Well, welcome to the board! We keep things friendly and mature here and get some great conversations going once in a while.

Anyway, I guess I should take this opportunity to re-introduce myself. My name is Chris, I'm 22 (will be 23 next month), and I've been a member of this board for about a year now. I live on Long Island, NY, and commute to Manhattan every day for school and work. I go to a technical school, TCI (Technical Career Institute), and study circuits and security systems. I was fortunate enough to get a paid internship with the Time Warner company which is where I work in the IT department for the Book Group division.

I'm finding, though, that the security systems and computer science stuff really isn't me at all. My brain doesn't work well mathematically; I'm more of an artistic/writer type. But, I feel I'm at the point of no return now in terms of getting a degree in this field and I'm trying to finish up in August (since it's a technical school, the semesters are different than regular college, so the summer semester runs from May-August). I'm not sure I want to do this, where I'm going, or what I'm going to do, but I hope it somehow falls into place (or at least I hope I'm not miserable!).

And I just wanted to comment on some of you guys calling yourselves "geeks." If you find things you're passionate about, I don't believe you should hide it. It would be ridiculous to pretend to be someone you're not just to be considered "cool." There's no shame in showing who you are or what you like. Being true to yourself is one of the main points of life, in my opinion. Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you guys!

Colin is an absolute doll to meet. Just the sweetest, nicest guy. He and Brad have been expanding their tour more and more. Their current schedule can be found at An Evening with Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood. Shows are added on a nearly weekly basis.

May I add my welcome to all newcomers, and reintroduce myself.
It seems I am the main delegate of the British contingent at the moment, most of the rest of the Brits seem to be lurking.
My name is Helen, I am 47, married (25years in August!) with two delightful children. I work as an ICT Technician (geek alert!) but my primary function for the last couple of years has been to co-ordinate the Independent Learning Centre attached to the School where I work, in Bedfordshire (John Bunyan country) England.
I got into QL just before it was cancelled, and can honestly say it has changed my life - all for the better and not least by helping me make the best darned friends in the world - the guys and gals here at Al's.
I also have an alter ego known as one half of Rodette!!!

just...got....bombarded...with questions ;) Anyway I don't mind! WDW is one of my favorite subjects!

We're going the second week of August, and staying at Caribbean Beach....we're not doing any PS's this time. We're pretty laid back and would rather just grab a bite to eat here and there. This will be our second time to stay at a moderate, the other being Port Orleans (when it was just Port Orleans) I love All Star Music myself, but July is mom and dad's 20th anniversary, so they're 'postponing'

I had my picture taken with Off Kilter December of 2003...I also had a picture taken with Mark, and last Christmas my dad blew it up to an 8X10 and sent it off for Mark to sign. It was the best Christmas gift :D I'm excited, because Off Kilter is supposed to be putting out a fifth CD sometime this summer! Yee-haw!

I think that's all the questions......haha!

How cool! :) Mom and I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings) for our girls' only trip. Caught Bob Jackson's show....he's GREAT!

We'll be staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins when we go. One of my good friends and fellow mods at Magictrips stayed at the Caribbean Beach on their last trip....they LOVED it!!! Hope you do too.

hey guys, i don't knowif it is just me being used to what eventually happens to me elsewhere on the net, or not, but for some reaosn, i have this strange feeling that i am all of a sudden taking my first teensy step to being a bit of a problem around here, cue to my unintentional habits which i explained when i told you all about myself in i think it was the little mistake topic?

i don't know why, but it;s like sam always says, it's just this gut feeling. i am sorry if this gut feeling is right, i will try to be better.

thank you brian. i think i am just too used to what has happened to me in the past. i have to just remember that i have never met a more understanding group of my little habits than this one. :D

and to think i almost did not wanna join becasue it's ezboard. what was i thinking!:lol

Yeah, don't worry at all. I just sent you a PM about it, because I had a feeling you felt that way. :)

Check the Inbox in your Control Panel.

We tend to be much more understanding on this board than many other boards. I won't name names... *cough* STARTREK.COM *cough* SCI-FI.COM *cough* ...but we try hard to keep an open mind. All we really ask people is to just try to be aware of what they say and how they say it, that's all. Misunderstandings will likely still occur among some of us from time to time. I've been known to have quite a few misunderstandings in my lifetime, especially because of my Adult Attention Deficit Disorder and Depression issues.

As Brian said, you're doing just fine. :)

Thank you for the welcome everyone :) .

A little more about myself I spaced out in my first post :)

I'm 29 years old, married with two kids 6 years and 3 years old, currently for the summer I'm waiting tables but come fall I will begin my second semester at the local community college to get my certificate in web design.

I guess I should say something about myself as well, then. <g>

My real name is Ann Marie. I'm 27 and live in So Cal (someone else on this thread was down here... hi!). I got into QL 10 years ago when I caught the reruns on USA. Although I remember my mom watching them when they were originally aired.

I write QL fanfic that's still drifting around in a few places on the 'net. Thanks to Jennie's support, I have recently revived 2 stories (just 1, actually, I guess, because I didn't want 2 going at once, but the 2nd one will get some attention after the first one's completion) that have lain dormant for years.

I'm in the Navy - anyone else who has had time on the water would know what my screen name means. I was part of another QL group in college, but had to leave after things got busy with the Navy, round about the time I went on my first deployment.

Nice to meet you all! Glad to see at least a couple familiar faces.

I am definitely not a newby to the site or to QL... but... I might as well put in a little note here.

My real name is Marjorie Jayne but I go by Mar-Jayne or MJ. ((I'm like Sam being called Samuel.)) I'm 34, live in Texas, am mom of 3 (set of 9 year old twins and a 12 year old), a special education teacher in high school and I *love* Quantum Leap.

I run the websites Quantum Retribution and Quantum Leap: The Virtual Seasons. I'm constantly either writing or reading or editing (whichever the case might be).

I'm nuttier than the day is long and my husband rolls his eyes at even the mention of Quantum Leap. He'd rather me be writing on the two novels that I'm trying to work on called Dracenmore and Sealed With A Kiss.

I think that it's great that others are writing... and if they care to join in at QL:TVS for Season 12, that's fine. I had been known to hunt out writers for TVS... to ask "do you write" straight out on the board. If anyone cares to write - more power to them - put a hat in.

Welcome to the visitors / lurkers / newly posters / etc. :wavey I'm glad that you guys are here!

Hi to all the new people!

I'm not a newbie either, but I figure I may as well (re)introduce myself too, especially since I don't post much.

I'm an 22 elementary school teacher from NYC. I enjoy writing too, though at the moment my energy is more towards writing radio plays and books for children (I've just gotten a note saying a book of mine is being passed around Scholastic Inc, but I beed an agent to be taken seriously). So far as QL is concerned, I've been chatting with this bunch for what I reckon is close to five years now, I am/was a writer and cover artist for the Quantum Leap Radio dramas and I'm the person behind theQL/Enterprise Crossover which I've been neglecting for a bit...

Anyway, welcome again and glad to meet y'all!

Thank you all for the welcome to us new members. Just discovered this site today, while I was looking for some Quantum Leap episode guide, and this site was, easily, displayed on the first two result pages, so I decided to take a look. Wow! It's simply amazing, not even TV tome has a completelier guide like which is in this site. Then all those episode clips, songs, images, and people, wow! Gorgeous site! I don't think that any great show like Quantum Leap is, has a fan site just like this. Way to go! Congratulations to the administrators! :hurray

My name's Philip H. Loveland (H. is for Harry, but H. sounds way better in a horrible name like Harry), I'm 19, I started to be a fan since 1997. I own the first three seasons on DVD, but I have watched the whole series, though, thanks to re-runs, I live in San Diego, CA, USA, I live alone, I'm single, I work in Long Beach, CA, near Los Angeles, for a company named NEIL, who makes parts and combinations for every type of airplanes, and I love reading, watching horror, drama, thriller and sci-fi movies. My favourite episode is Dreams. I also love fan-fic, traveling, the mountains, the stars in a dark sky at 2 or 3 in the morning, Canada, Spain and France, the aurora borealis when I go to Alaska, and the sea. And now, this site.

Thanks for open this to us, new Leapers (practically).
And for all those further new members, welcome! :leappark

Hi, not a newbie. My name is Greg, 33, I start a new job on Monday for a company called WebXtreme where i will be a west coast tech rep. I spent 7 years in my chosen field of tv communications and hated it. I am single, and live alone in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (Amish country). I once had an idea of leaping Sam into an Amish person - maybe someday when the urge to write returns - right now the stories I wrote for Season 11 drained all the creativity out of me...besides, I am still kicking around a fan fic sequel series to the Greatest American Hero (a new person gets the suit in present time from the woman who took over for Ralph when his secret got exposed to the world - the actual episode this happened in never aired- new guy loses the instruction book, etc..) When QL was still airing I had a few ideas for episodes - like Sam being an astronaut...freaked me out when the leap-in was Sam as a space monkey - I thought it was my idea coming to life. Other ideas I had I was able to turn into Virtual Season stories over 10 years later - most notably Guinea Pig from Season 10. I had the first 1/3 of the story written out long before QL was cancelled by NBC. Luckily, the VS had a character update as to what had changed in the QL universe since Mirror Image so I was able to make changes to reflect the current state of Season 10.

To all newbies, welcome aboard...

Okay... I'm going to plug shamelessly here..... and for that, I'm sorry.....

Quantum Leap: The Virtual Seasons
is the one place where you can now find 180 fan-fiction stories for Quantum Leap! We are about to go on our seventh season online, so, Quantum Dreamer, if you like fan-fiction and you did say that you like to READ.... then there ya go!

Quantum Retribution
is another place where you can find stories about the Evil Leaper project. It's, of course, in the future, but eerily enough, it does tie into Quantum Leap...

Starbright Project
is another place where you can find stories that leads the characters to Starbright before there ever was a Quantum Leap... so, there's that to consider too.

You can read these in any order... because... in Quantum Leap -- Time is relative, right? *G*

I hope that you all get a chance to read and enjoy them.

Okay... enough shameless pluggery... I know, I'm bad... I can't help it!

Anyway.... welcome all! Old and New
