Summary: QL version of Billy Joel's "Piano Man"

I know that Billy Joel songs have inspired several story titles,
so it seems natural that a QL story could fit into a song.
This ditty won "Best Parody" at the Philcon Filk Contest, 1993.

I said "Al, check the girl in the Waiting Room.
My reflection is covered with scars.
This was more than a fight, and if my hunch is right,
He beat her, and she went too far."

The Imaging Chamber door vanishes,
I'm left in a house all alone
And I'm trying to sleep, but I only can weep,
And I doubt if I'll ever get home.
Next morning the cops send a car for me,
So I go and they take me to jail.
But a figure in pink tapping keys on his 'link
Says "Your brother is here to post bail."

Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da

While my friend checks for clues in the future,
I ride to my brother's abode
And my new nephew Davy, whose only a baby,
Keeps us smiling and lightens the load.
Al yells "Sam, keep an eye on the kid tonight!"
As the baby crawls out toward the hall.
Up the two flights I climb, then grab Davy in time
For I caught him before he could fall.

"Get ready to leap Sam, you saved the kid!
And your host wins her battle in court.
Seems your lawyer contends it was in self-defense..."
Then a flash of blue light cuts him short.

My surroundings, they change to a carnival,
There's growl and a lion appears.
And my chair holds him back, as I make my whip crack,
And shout "Al, what am I doing here?"
