THE POWER OF LOVE ----------------- Chapter Four ------------ Sam stood still, mesmerized, he had realised that he had changed history but he had also realised that he now had two things to do. "Sam?"said Al "Yes, errr, straight to the hospital then,"and with that he ran out of the door. * * * * * * * * * At the hospital, Maria was pacing up and down, almost in tears, as Sam rushed round the corner, and almost bumped into her, she ran into his arms, sobbing. At that moment, a doctor walked round the corner with a grave expression on his face. "How is he?"asked Maria "He's in a critical condition, I'm afraid he might not last through the next two days,"said the doctor "Ohhh!"sobbed Maria, as she went back into Sam's arms. Sam patted her back, "There, there, everything will be okay,"assured Sam "Can we see him?"asked Sam "Yes, but only close family."said the Doctor Maria was still sobbing as she walked into the room which her father was in, as she opened the door, she looked back at Sam, and smiled weakly, Sam smiled back at her, and Maria knowing that he would be with her throughout the whole of this unhappy affair. "Sam, you've got to do something,"said Al "Like what? Al, I can't bring him back from a coma, you know that's its literally impossible!"exclaimed Sam "Well, talk to him, you know that's the best thing anyone can do," "How, am I supposed to get in, they will only let in close family?" "So it's never stopped me!"said Al, and with that he disappered through the hologramatic door. Al knew that Sam could do it, he can do anything, he thought. Maria came out, sobbing, Sam hugged her and said "Let's go home, there's nothing you can do here at this time," "Okay then,"whimpered Maria, and the pair of them walked down the corrider in Sam's arms. * * * * * * * * * The next day, Sam was at the hospital again with Maria, Sam knew that he had to let her father know, that he would look after her no matter what happened If only he could get to see him. "I'm just going to get a coffee, do you want one?"asked Maria "Yes, please,"said Sam Sam looked around and saw no-one in the vicinity, so he walked into the room that had Maria's father, he could see that he was hooked up to a lot of machines, he could hear the beep...beep...beep going on in the background. He sat down in a chair next to his bed, and he decided that now would be as good as a time as ever, so he started to talk. "You don't know me, but my name's Phillip and I've been going out with your daughter Maria, I know that she is forbidden to go out with boys, but I'm different, from the rest, and I just wanted you to know that if anything happens then I will always be there for your daughter."said Sam, and sighed. The door, slowly opened and Maria, came in with the two cups of coffee, she walked over to Sam, but what escaped both of their noticing was that Maria's father's hand started to move, when Maria turned to look at her father, she saw him move, she yelled out in joy, and Sam immeditly went for the nearest doctor. When Sam came back in, Maria, was hugging her father, who was now sitting up. Al appeared just in time to see the happy occasion, and when Maria walked towards Sam she linked her arm, with his. "I know about you two, and I want you to know that I'm happy for you!" said Maria's father. Maria jumped for joy in Sam's arms, while Al was telling Sam what was going to happen to them. "Maria, and Phillip, stay in love, and they get married, and they have two bouncing boys, and hey, get this, she names one of them, Sam!" Maria kissed Sam on the lips, but Sam didn't hear the fact that she named one of her sons Sam, as he leaped. * * * * * * * * * Hope you liked it, Andrew Shaw
