Author's Notes

     I was going to post this story without any author's notes, but now
that I've finished, I feel compelled to say something about it.

     This story is very personal to me, and, yes, I am a character in
it at one part (but that's all I'll tell you).  Terri Librande talked
me into writing it down after we were swapping tornado stories one
Saturday afternoon.  Although I made up most of what Wayne's character
was and did, the events that happen on the street across from the park
are as accurate as I remember them.  I have to admit, it was a little
strange writing Sam into places and events that I had personal contact
with, but I had fun with it, too.

     I don't plan to do a rewrite on this story, unless I've messed up
the fatality count, or the thing about 'The Godfather, Part II' is
wrong.  I haven't had a chance to check on those two facts, yet.

     BTW, I don't think there's anything in this story that would tie
it to a particular QL episode or timeline.

     I hope you enjoy it.
