Project Trivia:
Ian Leaped back to 2022 to warn Ben about the doomed future and then returned to their present circa 2051. The government had destroyed the Quantum Accelerator when Ian returned, stranding Martinez in the past to persue his mission to kill everyone at Project Quantum Leap.

The reason the team at Project Quantum Leap feel changes instantly when Ben alters time is because he's never directly messed with their own timelines before. Until Ben finishes a Leap, everything is in flux. The phenomenon is called being in a "Quantum Bubble."

2018 Jenn dressed in a grunge look. She created the password "Turtle Time" when she joined Quantum Leap in case she was ever visited by her future self. Turtle Time is a saying from "The Real Housewives of New York City" leading Ian to figure out that Jenn watches the show.

The name of the coffee shop the team always goes to in 2018 is the Butterfly Cafe.

Ian's favorite video game in 2018 is Dark Souls. Game Trailer here.

An implosion of the Quantum Accelerator would take out everything within a 3-mile radius.

The location map of Ben and Martinez shown at the 2023 PQL shows us an approximate location of Project Quantum Leap in Los Angeles. While both sets of coordinates do not line up in real life, Martinez's location seems to match generally with a real location. Click below to expand with real Google map images:

Ben Trivia:
Ben and Addison's first date was the same night that Magic was meeting with Al Calavicci across town.

Ben asked Ian to run probability scenarios to see if he and Addison should go on a date in the original history.

Ben was not as confident or impulsive before he Leaped th first time.

Addison Trivia:
On their first date, 2018 Addison looked at ordering scallion pancakes as an appetizer, but Ben ordered egg rolls.

Addison has a pet goldfish named Scout.

Ian's Outfits Worn in the Episode:

2018: White tank top, red and black light jacket, black floor-length skirt

2023: Red lipstick, burgandy patterned floor-length dress with long see-through sleeves, long gold necklace, black short boots.

2051:
Brown two-toned tunic with silver spectacles and burning torch in hand

Kiss With History:
None this episode.

Miscellaneous Trivia:
Magic has now been Leaped into by two different Leapers: Sam Beckett and Richard Martinez.

In 2018, Ian and Jenn are going to a trivia night competing against a team called "Quiz-team-a Aguilara."

Ian broke up with Rachel in 2018, was lonely and stayed home most nights playing a video game called Dark Souls. It required two people to beat the game.

Near the end of the episode, it is apparent that Martinez did not want to be put in the position he is in, having to kill people. He says, "look where it put you... look where it put me..." as he holds the gun shakily.

Guest Cast Notes:

Walter Perez (Leaper X / Richard Martinez) was raised in South Gate, California, just 20 miles southeast of Hollywood. He was always eager to express himself artistically. In his earlier years, he often directed and played the lead character in several homemade movies where he mimicked his movie idols such as Charlie Chaplin. His working-class parents were unable to afford him the resources he needed to gain access to the industry. It wasn't until he heard about Colors United, a performing arts group aimed at inner-city high school students that he really got the chance to show others his talents. For three years he honed his acting, singing and dancing skills with the group.
Since high school, Walter has juggled auditions and a full-time schedule at Cal State Fullerton. During college, he has booked several commercials and various guest star spots on prime time television shows. Most recently, Walter's guest appearances include "CSI: Miami", "The Closer" and "Free Radio" as well as a five episode arc on "Friday Night Lights". His feature film credits include HBO's "Walkout" and winner of the John Cassavetes award "August Evening". He just completed the title role in "Emilio" and worked on "Run For Your Life" alongside Dermot Mulroney and Diane Kruger.

Georgina Reilly (Janis) is a British Canadian actress born February 12, 1986, in Guildford, United Kingdom, to songwriter/composer David Reilly and business administrator Frances Reilly. She comes from a long line of performers, her grandfather being Tommy Reilly, the world's first classical harmonica player. Growing up in an artistic household, she soon took to the family business, performing in musical theatre productions throughout her schooling. She met Philip Bateman (musical director of Billy Elliot, London production), who became a great mentor and supporter of her singing and acting. At the age of 16, she and her family made the move to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Real_Housewives_of_New_York_CityToronto, Canada, where Georgina finished her formal education. While attending Havergal College, she took a break from performing to focus on school. She was soon discovered by celebrated independent filmmaker Bruce McDonald, who cast her in the critically acclaimed 'Pontypool', which premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. It wasn't very long before Georgina became a household name in Canada. She is best known for her role as the feisty young coroner Dr. Emily Grace on Canada's acclaimed Victorian series Murdoch Mysteries and as the cynical Sabrina Reynolds on The CW's The L.A Complex. She married actor and filmmaker Mark O'Brien January 6, 2013, after meeting him on set. They reside in Los Angeles.

Yaani King (Frankie) began her career off-Broadway in "The Alchemist" at The Classic Stage Company. She segued into film and television with The Prince and Me (2004) with Julia Stiles, and Sex and the City (1998).

After studying at The Actors Centre in London, Ms. King moved to Los Angeles and almost immediately landed a series regular role on the hit TNT show Saving Grace (2007) with Holly Hunter. In addition to having appeared in numerous guest starring roles on shows like Criminal Minds (2005), Major Crimes (2012), Extant (2014), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000) and the new SyFy drama The Magicians (2015), she now has had a number of recurring roles on shows like ABC's Blood & Oil (2015), The Haves and the Have Nots (2013) and NBC's Aquarius (2015). Yaani has since entered the exciting world of Video Game voice-over and motion-capture when she was cast as Riley in the award-winning The Last of Us: Left Behind (2014).

Born and raised in Brooklyn and Queens, of Guyanese West Indian descent, Yaani spent her childhood watching her mother in theatre performing on stage. While attending LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center in NYC as a teen, Yaani recognized acting as her calling.

In recent years, Yaani has combined her love for acting with her humanitarian work as a founding member of a group called Charitable Living with 10 other friends, with the mission to support foundations and charities in every way from fund-raising to cooking meals. King is also an active volunteer at Aviva Family and Children's Services, mentoring young actors. In Yaani's free time she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, actor Adam Mondschein.

Anthony Ma (Waiter)
is a Taiwanese American actor, writer and filmmaker from Arcadia, CA. "Elevator" was his latest feature that took him across the world to film in Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles and Orange County, where he attained an Honorable Mention for Screenwriting from the DisOrient Asian American FF of Oregon.

He called upon his love of martial arts and Hong Kong action films to create videos that were heavily influenced by superstars such as Jackie Chan and Jet li. Throughout college he would find himself recreating action moments and trying to improve upon them as he studied film and animation at Syracuse University. His first short film after college "Somnaire Aude" won several awards at different film festivals and was acquired by ShortsHD, an all short film driven channel that is part of DirectTV. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

Guests Who Appeared in Other Quantum Leap Episodes:
Walter Perez returns as Leaper X / Richard Martinez, who has leaped into a nurse.

Georgina Reilly returns as recurring character Janis Calavicci.

Characters who appeared (or were mentioned) in Classic Series episodes:
None this episode. However, in the scene where Ben is in the holding cell talking to hologram Magic, Ben exclaims that "What's the point of helping all these people I don't know? What about me?" This mirrors Sam Beckett's speech to Al in "The Leap Home: Part I" where Sam says "Why can I save strangers and not the people I love?"

Songs & Music:
"Dream" by The Pied Pipers plays as Ben and Martinez simo-leap back into "Ben, Interrupted."

Say What?
Why would 2018 Jenn not suspect something was wrong when Martinez (as Magic) tells her to wipe the security footage?

How does Hologram Magic sit on the bench exactly like Ben does in the holding cell? (but then we wouldn't have gotten a great season one, LOL)

Why didn't Future Ian leap back himself to 2018 and warn everyone? The entire scenario could have been avoided.

Why didn't future Ian just tell Ben that 2018 Ian and 2023 Ian needed to enter the code together to make the program work instead of being cryptic and saying "we need each other?" They had just enough time before they shouted at Ben as he was Leaping, "You need two--"

Quotable Quotes:

2018 Addison: "So, you're a time traveler?"
Ben: "I'm Ben from the future. I Leaped in 2022 to come back here and save your life."
2018 Addison: "From what?"
Ben: "A man sent back in time to kill you."
2018 Addison: "(Laughs) Ok, ok that's really good! I mean it's literally the plot of the Terminator but it's good."

Magic: "That's the best case scenario? What's the worst?"
Janis: "Ben rips a hole in space-time, killing everything that ever was..."
Magic (to Ian): "Hurry up with that code!"

"Hey, come on. You and me... there's no future in which me and you don't end up together."
-Ben to Addison

"I risked everything to bring Sam home."
-Magic

"Turtle time is my favorite time. I'm basic as hell."
-Jenn

"According to Ziggy, all of you have to die."
-Martinez

"The cigars... you told me Al took them but you Leaped into Magic's body before he ever got to Al's Place, didn't you?"
-Addison, to Martinez

Addison: "What are you doing with our accelerator?"
Martinez: "Putting right what once went wrong."
Ben: "That's sort of my thing."

Ben: "I know you want me to stick to the original history but..."
Addison: "Maybe we got it wrong the first time..."
Ben: "Do I have your permission to make it right?"
Addison: "Oh, hell yeah."

Personal Review & Detailed Synopsis Manfred::

Judgment Day: A Quantum Leap season finale

The last time we saw Ben, he was in the future in a Nuclear Winter to talk to Ian. Ian is the last surviving member of Team Quantum Leap. And he has waited years for Ben and he has also worked on a code to be inserted into Ziggy to defeat Leaper X.

The Quantum Accelerator however doesn’t like it when you travel to the future and tries its hardest to pull Ben back to the past. Before he leaps, Ben gets the message from Ian to work together and Ben memorizes the mathematics Ian has worked on while waiting for Ben. Just when Ian wants to tell him what the code is for Ben is pulled back to the past.

The Quantum Accelerator has pulled Ben back to 2018. It is the day when Ben and Addison go on their first date. And there are some differences or rather this part of the episode acts like a prelude to the events that occurred during season 1.

For example, the role of Janis Calavicci was to have Ben jump to this exact moment. It was the time when the Quantum Leap project was about to start. Addison was supposed to be the leaper and not Ben.

Addison received training for it and she was going to see what happens during the leaping. I have to say that I enjoyed the mention of Admiral Al Calavicci. Magic was going to butter him up using contraband Cuban cigars. Highly illegal, but if you are buttering up someone then you might as well go all out, am I right?

When Ben and Addison stare each in the eyes, Team Quantum Leap quickly notices that there is more going on between the two of them than just friends. They are dressed as if they are going on a date right after work. And the team is happy for them. I guess Judgment Day is superfluous when you consider that 2 people falling in love is the best moment. But of course, it is not.

With Ben back in 2018, he has to be very careful to not upset anything too much or there will be a paradox. And the worst-case scenario, Ben and Addison never fall in love. Which is kind of the backbone of the entire show.
