The Rod has had a few emails from RodVisions@hotmail.com querying Him regarding various things.

As He always likes to please He would like to address a couple of the more constant queries:

(1) His new picture will be up soon.

(2) He cannot say how long RodVision will go on for, as long as you keep reading, He will keep writing.

(3) No He does not send underwear to anybody!!

He & Hotmail will soon be parting company.

It has been brought to His attention, that His good friend MJ Cogburn (Authorette of RodetteVision, and, Oh Yeah, She’s a Hot Rodette Baby!!) has decided to move on from RodetteVision.

MJ, The Rod loves ya baby! Bets of luck with whatever you do.

Quantum Leap – Greatest Hits

With the impending release of the Quantum Leap Season 1 DVD (Which The Rod has ordered btw), and the imminent screenplay, The Rod feels He needs to wonder at just what the film will do.

Of course it will introduce the Leapers to Sam’s daughter; it will hopefully re introduce a new audience to Al Calavicci.

What The Rod fears, indeed what a great many shows have done, is that the Jamokies in charge will bring together a clip show, to showcase the old Series, promoting the sales of the DVD set.

He is sure that many of you out there will disagree, many of you may question as to why The Rod is contemplating this.

Many great shows resort to clip shows, usually when they are running out of story ideas or promoting sales of a film/DVD release.

What better way to stoke up sales, than by showcasing classic clips as the characters remember what once happened.

Perhaps, and hopefully, He is being unnecessarily harsh on the producers of the next QL. Star Trek has gone from strength to strength in its 5 incarnations, all different yet all linked.

So what is The Future of Quantum Leap?

Leapers have criticised the final season of Quantum Leap, indeed Bellisario himself even stated that if it were left up to him, there wouldn’t have been the celebrity leaps so common in the last series.

Was it a dip in ratings that caused Universal to force Bellisario in to these leaps? Were they trying to improve a proven formula?

Whatever the reason, perhaps these types of episode are the future of QL.

The Rod’s Suggestion for the Possible New Series

The original series of Quantum leap had a very clever ‘gimmick’. Well, actually it had a couple:

With these important themes, Quantum Leap bought an element of humor to its sometimes dark stories. It also catered for the female fan (Did Sam EVER keep his shirt on?), so, perhaps it’s the male fans turn.

As Dr Sam Beckett will probably not be featured, what The Rod suggests is that on every leap, the female leaper RodKini wearing Hot Rodette.

Think about how clever it would make you writers look if you could write this into the storylines every week.

This month, The Rod has a real classic for you:

Gun’s N Roses – Appetite for Destruction.

The Rod has read a great many reviews for this fabulous album, indeed He has even written a couple. But the best way to describe this album:

"The blueprint for modern Rock N Roll."

Guns N Roses may have their problems now, but they were probably the best Rock band out there for a long time. Enough said. Go listen to it.

Of course, The Rod has to try and tell you how this particular brand of music could fit into any Quantum leap episode, but you know what, it just would!
