"The Beast Within"

Cut Scenes:

The first approved version of the script is dated December 18th 1992 and credited to Tommy Thompson.

It opens with a marvellous description of the leapee (Henry Akers, not Adams): "He's dressed in a bulky, matted, dirty full-length fur coat (of course, in fairness to the tiny woodland creatures, we'll use an imitation fur, coat)".

Sam's first two monologues are moved around and restructured a little.

When we first meet Roy, he reminisces about their time in 'Nam and Henry's advice to pretend to be invisible (later in the final version).

All references to phenytoin were originally to Dilatin, the version of phenytoin branded by Viatris.

The script hedges its bets over the flashback sequence, noting "If budget allows, we may do a black and white scene of John's death. Scene to be inserted later. Specifics of scene to be determined" and then going on to use narrative from Sam to tell the story instead.

Note that a slightly different "Writer's Draft" also existed, prior to the production versions, dated December 17th 1992, credited instead to D'Aquino.
