"For Your Love" Trilogy Part II
|
Cut Scenes: The second version of the script is dated 18th September 1992. It names the Takins family 'Taskins'. It has a continuing act structure from Trilogy Part I: after the teaser we have Acts Five to Eight. It's clear that most of the previous leap disappears from his mind (and therefore absolves us from the icky thought that he's fallen in love with the girl he recently knew as his daughter) as an early direction reads "The memories of the last Leap are fading from his mind. He cups his hand to his mouth, trying to remember. As he does, he breathes and is filled with the scent of Abigail. The past mercifully washes from his mind. Sam shakes his head but the memories are gone. Now the present fills his thoughts". Al mentions shortly after that Sam's "neurons are still scrambled with Will's". Abigail remembers Marie wasn't able to witness the fire as "she was in Daddy's car with a busted hip". Bo catches Sam talking to Al and warns him people might think he was crazy. Sam and Al have a longer conversation firstly about Leta getting away with the fire, and then about Will Kinman in the future thinking he's been abducted by aliens. Sam and Leta's confrontation is flipped around (possibly in post-production) as they originally discuss the fire and then Leta's belief that Abigail will get the electric chair, with some extra ranting from Leta in the middle - on broadcast it's the chair and then the fire. When Sam decides to visit Laura, he and Al have some discussion about where she is and how she's been doing. Immediately after, Al and Gooshie find where the Takins boy will later be found, and Al goes there (offscreen) but he's too early. When Al warns Sam how long he's got to save Abigail, onscreen he says "eight minutes, Sam", but in the script it's six- the line is heard from over Al's shoulder so it's likely the scene ran faster than Pratt estimated and Stockwell dubbed this to account for it. |
