"How the Tess Was Won"

Cut scenes:

In the third version of the script (called simply "August 5, 1956") and dated 24th February 1989, is very similar to the finished product.

Minor points of note are that, in the opening scene, Sam inserts a thermometer into the piglet's behind, causing some squealing.

The leapee's name is Patrick (not Daniel) Young.

It's not explicit that Chance explains the "thumbs up" rule to Sam, implying that Sam may have known this himself (in fact the whole relationship between Chance and Sam/Young seems warmer in the episode.)

Buddy's "Pardon Me" song runs longer at the start, explaining the gag a little more clearly. "Pard and I, Pard and I, Pard and me, Pard and me... Pardon me, pardon me for loving you."

Tess suggests one last test, "mano a mano" - this line doesn't make it to the finished episode, perhaps as someone on staff pointed out the common misconception that this means man-to-man (it doesn't, it means "hand-to-hand", which would be nonsensical in this context).

The script suggests the final showdown between Sam and Widowmaker takes place on a Sunday.

Gooshie apparently has a wooden leg.
