Cut Scenes: Sam is holding two cats when he leaps in, Simon and Garfunkel.' In the second version of the script, dated 25th July 1991, Sam is mentioned at one point during the cold open as carrying multiple cats (it appears this was a change between the first and second drafts). Sam covers up the in his eyes as the result of Irish heritage and attempts an accent. Lisa's cat is called Twiddle Boots (not just Boots). Sam's monologues on the way to and from the apartment are absent, as are the ones after Lisa confesses her love and leaves, and when Sam goes after Boface. The build up to Sam and Cissy's kiss goes on for longer (the broadcast version loses some irrelevant lines). Sam's retort to Al about taking his cough to a doctor is missing. The passionate kiss in the closet happens more publicly, and Al is watching them as he disappears. Sam is more threatening as Joe offers to help him find Boface, replying "only if you want to go without your teeth!" |
