Cut Scenes: In the third draft script, dated October 16th 1989, Sam first thinks he’s leapt into the body of a child. When Al first appears, the script makes a sly reference to a member of the writing staff: “he’s dressed in his usual Ruppenthal collection”. After Sam fights Blue, Roscoe sticks up for him, telling Frank that Blue started it and complimenting Sam on his technique. Connie runs out of the house with Frank when Sam restrains Peter. After Al’s heart-wrenching story about Trudy, it’s Sam that reassures Al (and not the other way around) that “we’re not going to lose Jimmy”. The scene where Sam tries to get Jimmy’s job back plays out a little differently. |
