"The Last Door"

Trilogy Part III

Cut Scenes:

In the draft script dated September 8th 1992: Mrs. Stanton is described as being slim with the aid of a great deal of cosmetic surgery; a difference from the curvy actress chosen to play her.

Marie’s surname is Williams, not Billings, and Stanton cleared her husband in a case in 1957.

When Abigail tells Stanton about the events surrounding Leta’s death, and then goes on to talk about Violet and Bart, she says “I didn’t kill them”, while in the episode as broadcast she is far less certain.

There is a lengthy sequence in which Denton presents his opening arguments in court, although for the most part this just summarises the events of the episodes to date. At the end of that scene, after Sam takes a turn in the courtroom, he is tended to by Doc Kinman, who administers his nitro (referred to in the broadcast version via a voiceover).

Al explains that Sam has taken on Stanton’s poor heart (shifted to the scene where Sam visits Laura).

The scene where Sammy Jo and Sam talk about Brigadoon is absent.

Although Bo arrived on the scene of the murder because of a report from Abigail’s neighbours, she says that her nearest neighbours are quarter of a mile away.

The act numbers follow continuously through the episodes, so the final act in Trilogy Part III is Act 12.
