"Play Ball"
|
Cut Scenes: The fourth version of the script, dated 15th July 1991, is largely as broadcast, but with some additional information included. Billy is given the surname Wayne and is specified to be ten-years-old. The radio reporter is named Ray Tinsley, and tells us the team haven't been to the playoffs for 22 years. Travelin' Man plays on the coach, not in the diner as broadcast. The diner scene is two days from the playoff, not three. Al gives Sam some extra information on his leapee: Doc struck out Ted Williams three times in the same game. Sam and Chucky's confrontation in the locker room plays out differently, with Sam confronting him directly about alcoholism and his father before Chucky says "I oughta deck you." |
