Cut Scenes: Grady was originally named Jimmy. In an early draft (version unknown but after Grady gained his final name), Violet gets involved in the discussion between Grady, Sam and Lester at the start. Al doesn't make a reference to the ladies' room (instead he wonders why Sam, a man with an IQ of 267, can't make a better suggestion) We learn Magic won $40,000 against Billy Blue Lightning ($20,000 in the transmitted version). We see more of Eddie's amazing pool playing just before Violet tries to seduce him. Al's line about ending up in Peoria is missing, as is his suggestion to hold the pool cue like a cigar. Sam and Violet have a lengthy discussion at the piano as he encourages her to continue to follow her dream of owning the club as she tells him to "whip Eddie". Fnally, the montage of the climactic game is full of speech - mostly Grady and Violet commenting on the action - while in the finished episode it's substituted with music. |
