"Star Light, Star Bright"
|
Cut Scenes: The second version of the script, dated 21st August 1992, has Max and Tim being found by the policeman as part of the teaser. There is a little extra dialogue at the end of Act One as John worries about the influence Max is having over Tim. The band Tim performs in during the original future timeline is called Northern Lights (later changed to River Wind). Tim describes his father as a bastard (a jerk on transmission, although Al describes the agents as bastards later). When listing off dead celebrities, Sam includes John Belushi, and he gives a more conservative "If you start to get into drugs, you'll watch what happens to those people" (by the time of filming it had been changed to the softer "If you start to get into drugs, not just grass but into heavy drugs"). Sam is surprised that the agent's work is classified "still? In nineteen ninety-nine?" Tim does not see Sam talking to himself (which also means he doesn't share this observation with his father later). Under the influence of truth serum Sam specifies the Project is in Alomogordo, New Mexico (which, as stated in Genesis is “about where they set off the first atomic bomb'). Hank Meadows is called Irwin Meadows. Early in the episode, when Sam and Al are arguing in public about Sam's desire to go to the library to research, the scene continues as one before cutting to the agents in the car discussing eccentric people in history. When broadcast, the agents' conversation was moved up to fall in the middle of Sam and Al as a cutaway. A second conversation followed that scene where they discuss the morality of interrogating a senior citizen. As writer Okie recalled: "we wound up shooting some extra material with them, to make sure that their role was clear, and also frankly I think because we were a little bit short." - Okie not only wrote but also directed this material. |
