January 20, 2003 Rodette-Vision INTERVIEW OF A LIFETIME Once in a lifetime, you get an opportunity to get an interview with someone that you admire. This man I do admire. I look at what hes done and I am amazed at the work or am just flabbergasted at where the information is coming from. This is one of those times This interview was with The Bartender, Brian Greene, himself. So, let the interview begin. This was taken from a conversation given just this evening its most definitely hot off the press
Robyn: First and foremost thank you for the opportunity for this interview.
Brian: Oh youre most welcome.
Robyn: So, is there anything that youd like to say to everyone who is going to read Rodette Vision?
Brian: I just want to say that I love the work you have done with the column these past few weeks. Your visions are always entertaining and enlightening!
Robyn: *blushes* Thanks. I do try my best to get everything just so. But I also know that I need to try to out do the Rod. Never get that close though. He always one-ups me. But, I digress. Tell me, why did you start Als Place? When?
Brian: I started Al's Place in April of 2000, I think. I had just come upon Frontpage and was new to the Internet, so I decided to make a "test" web page just for fun - to see what I could do with the software. From there I created the basis for Al's Place and the idea sprung up quickly into bigger and better things as I learned web design. We started on geocities and from there merged into GreeneSpace.com and when the time was right almost a year ago now...Al's Place got it's own home at www.quantumleap-alsplace.com
Brian: Well...hahaha...i have my sources, ya know? A lot of it comes from the fans of the site and I want to thank them right now for all the great work they do. Some of it also comes from my personal collection I have created over the years.
Robyn: No matter where you get it from, its an awesome site. Full of images, sites, and sounds. So, lets let the fans out there know more about the Bartender. What is your favorite music to listen to?
Brian: I have to say I am a big Beatles Fan. I have every album out there. But I also love current country music, some alternative, and classic rock.
Robyn: I see so a fan of the Beatles huh? Thats great. Ive always thought that I was born in the wrong era. Which song is your absolute favorite?
Brian: I would have to say that "In My Life" is probably my favorite...but there are just so many good tracks...hard to name just one.
Robyn: Fair enough. Out of the Country Music, who do you like to listen to the most?
Brian: Garth Brooks is always a favorite Mark Wills, Alison Krauss, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and Lonestar. Those are the favorites, but there are many others I listen to also.
Robyn: Those are all good ones too! Most excellent. Speaking of songs do you dance?
Brian: No. Period. Ive been told Im a comfortable slow dancer, but Im not sure if that was a compliment or not. *laugh out loud*
Robyn: *giggles* Im sure that there would be no complaints. *grin* I cant help but ask is there a special lady out there?
Brian: Yeah...out there somewhere. She's pretty special... Hope I meet her someday...
Robyn: Awww thats sweet. Im sorry, but its the journalist in me coming out, but are we going to find out who this special lady is?
Brian: Well...*laughs nervously*...let's just put it this way. She's very special and close to my heart. I wouldn't have missed the times we've had for anything in the world.
Robyn: Ahhh I see no names. A mystery woman could be anyone. *ponders for a moment* Just a few more questions and well be done. Okay, heres an off the wall question; but here goes if you had the opportunity to do anything in the world that you wanted and money was no object where would you go and why?
Brian: I would most definitely go to Scotland and the surrounding country-sides. My ancestors came from the highlands and I have long dreamed of visiting that area.
Robyn: Thats so awesome. Ive never been to Scotland, but Id love to be there one day. Wanna by me a ticket?
Brian: Well, I would...but only if you gave me a kiss on the cheek. And another bikini pic!
Robyn: Well, uhm I doubt that Mr. Robyn_X would like that. *smile* Okay, Mr. Bartender, two more questions for you. I would like to have the opportunity to interview you again soon in the future. Would that be a problem?
Brian: not at all, Robyn.... you know where to find me, right?
Robyn: Of course, I know where to find you. *grin* And you most definitely know where you can find me wracking my little brain on what to do for next time on Rodette Vision. *giggles* Last question of the evening, Mr. Bartender. When are we going to set up a new chat date? It was awesome yesterday care to let us in on when the next one might fall?
Brian: Hmmm....well I was going to ask the board if Saturday, February 8th around 1pm again would be ok. That was fun, wasn't it?
Robyn: It was fun. Getting to talk to everyone was most excellent. Thanks again for the interview and thanks for your time! *grin* May you have a wonderful week if I dont get to talk to you soon.
Brian: Thanks Robyn you too. ~*~@ @~*~ ~*~@ @~*~ As for the rest of you out there on the ahem as Rod would say, Rodernet Id like for you to know that someday soon I will be able to also interview another famous Als Place person. Who will it be? Youll have to stay tuned to find out! *giggles* A girl cant give away all her secrets, now, can she?
