Title of Episode: Chiefest of Sinners: Part One Date of Episode: Thursday, May 17, 1984 Location of Episode: Starbright Project, Stallions Gate, New Mexico Kiss With History: none Writer's Notes: Im not quite sure exactly where this idea came from; I was alternating between the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack and Elvis #1 Hits CDs while mindlessly cropping inserts at work, and the idea came to me during "Suspicious Minds"what if one of Als legendary conquests came to him, claiming to be pregnant? It snowballed from there. In other musical inspirations, the title and some additional aspects of the story came to me on a drive to Florida while listening to the Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, and the aforementioned Elvis CD, and I was reminded of the Apostle Pauls statement in I Timothy that he himself was the "chiefest of sinners." Hence the titlewhich also plays a bit on events within the story as well. Many thanks to: Brian Greene, Helen Earl, Sue Johnson, Dawn Decicco, and Eleiece Krawiec for encouragement during the writing of this story. Summary: Weitzman sends another tour group to the project; in its midst, one Chief Petty Officer Shannon MacLean, nearly eight months pregnant. As if the tour group alone isnt disrupting things at the project, MacLean accuses Al of fathering her child during a drunken weekend in Las Vegas, yet Al swears he has never met her before. Ross Adams overhears the accusation, and forces General Collins to confront Al, resulting in Als temporary suspension from the Project while things are sorted out. Rumors spread like wildfire and staff members take sides, meanwhile Al tries to cope with stresses that tempt him to drink again. It is revealed that Alia has Leaped into Shannon MacLean in an attempt to discredit Al and get him removed from the Starbright Project and dishonorably discharged from the Navy for fraternization (thus canceling him out of Project Quantum Leap); the hologram Zoe explains that Lothos intends to abort the real MacLeans child and have Alia frame Al for pushing the pregnant woman down a flight of stairs (by falling on her own).
Title of Episode: Chiefest of Sinners: Part Two Date of Episode: Thursday, May 17, 1984 Friday, May 18, 1984 Location of Episode: Starbright Project, Stallions Gate, New Mexico Kiss With History: none Many thanks to: Brian Greene, Helen Earl, Sue Johnson, Dawn Decicco, and Eleiece Krawiec for encouragement during the writing of this story. Summary: Feeling nearly everyone but Sam has turned against him, Al struggles with how to deal with the accusations leveled against him. The Evil Leapers find their plan foiled by their own people, when MacLean flatlines in the middle of the abortion. The real MacLean is Leaped back before Alia becomes trapped in the past, and the Project medical staff rushes to save the lives of the chief and her baby, now faced with the mystery of the suddenness of her injuries.
Title of Episode: Chiefest of Sinners: Part Three Date of Episode: Friday, May 18, 1984 Location of Episode: Starbright Project, Stallions Gate, New Mexico and Santa Fe General Hospital, Santa Fe, New Mexico Kiss With History: none Many thanks to: Brian Greene, Helen Earl, Sue Johnson, Dawn Decicco, and Eleiece Krawiec for encouragement during the writing of this story. Summary: Assistance comes from an unlikely source as Perry Thompson comes forward with information that vouches for Al. General Collins and Johnny Bartlett prove themselves to be fully in Als corner, despite the myriad of questions surrounding Shannon MacLeans condition. Donna comes to an understanding where Sam and Als relationship is concerned and begins empathizing with Al for the first time. Her newfound empathy also causes her to reach out to Tina. Shannon MacLean stirs after Al visits her in the hospital, showing the first signs of emerging from her coma, but when she regains consciousness, she has no idea who he is.
Title of Episode: Chiefest of Sinners: Part Four Date of Episode: Friday, May 18 Saturday, May 19, 1984 Location of Episode: Starbright Project, Stallions Gate, New Mexico and Santa Fe General Hospital, Santa Fe, New Mexico Kiss With History: U.S. Military action in Beirut, 1983 Writer's Notes: Well, this story really snowballed a lot
farther than Id anticipated. Many thanks to Brian Greene, Helen Earl, Sue Johnson,
Dawn Decicco, and Eleiece Krawiec for encouragement, proofing, and soundboarding during
the writing of this story. Thanks also to Damon Sugameli for his assistance in selecting a
repertoire of songs appropriate to Ross Adams. Thanks to my "big brothers"
GoofyKeith and Scott, who unknowingly contributed to this story with their discussion of
Scottish slang. (That's where I picked up "bampot" btw) LOL Summary WITHOUT spoilers: Shannon MacLean emerges from her coma, but has no memory of confronting Al. What she does remember is disturbing at best. Ross Adams continues his pursuit of "the truth" about Al and the chief, but has his own ideas about what the facts should be. Sam has another interesting encounter with the orb, with startling facts revealed as a result. Various theories are proposed to explain the events of the past couple of days, and the strangest sounding one may be closest to the truth. Summary WITH spoilers: Verbena Beeks considers pursuing a degree in psychiatry after her encounter with Shannon MacLean. Ross Adams continues to alienate Project staff with his attitude, causing even affable Perry Thompson to dislike him. The orbs fondness for Al is expressed. Shannon gives a visitors perspective of the Evil Leaper project. Perry Thompson is promoted to Director of Transportation. Shannon requests permission to give her son Albert as a middle name, and Al makes her promise to stay in touch. Tina and Al are ultimately reconciled, with Donna and Tina becoming closer as a result of Donnas intervention and assistance.
