John Spencer dies at age 58

You're not alone in your sadness over Mr. Spencer's death, Samantha. I saw the notice of his passing this morning. He will be sorely missed. :cry He was a wonderful character actor. In fact, it was his role as Leo McGarry that initial caught my interest and drew me in to watch "The West Wing".

Oh wow, this is sad news! I haven't really caught any news reports over the weekend with everything that's been going on: Christmas party, the family get-together, etc. I, too, enjoyed John Spencer's work. I remember seeing him when he was on L.A. Law and a few guest appearances here and there before seeing him portray Leo on The West Wing. (Don't worry, you're not alone, Samantha.)

He was a fine actor and will be sorely missed.

I didn't know him from West Wing, But I just saw ET and they talked about it. I diodn't realize that he was in The Rock and The Negotiator.

It is always sad when someone passes before their time. R.I.P.
 
I wasn't familiar with his work, but it is always sad when someone dies before their time like that. Man, all these R.I.P. threads are depressing!
