From the creator: Quantum Leap was my all time favorite show! I'd never miss an episode for anything. And I ready mean ANYTHING. (My collage buddies can verify that). So when Scott Bakula became his first figure, I knew what I had to do! I used Scott's head from the new Star Trek line and the body of Norman Bates from Movie Maniacs to make Sam leaping into the body of a house wife. Now Al was a bit more difficult. I used Norman Bates head and a very re-tooled body of the Candyman figure from the same figure line. Tons of putty later and I had Al's outfit complete. With all the leaps that Sam has had, figure combos are endless! Web archive page here. |

From the creator: I didn't realize I hadn't submitted this guy here! I did this figure a little while back. (I just finished TV Flash for the same guy). This is Beckett as he appears in the opening credits and in the first episode of "Quantum Leap", in the Fermi suit that he wears before he Leaps the first time. The suit was created from a custom made pattern that I made. It was machine sewn except the neck which was hand stitched. The body had some massive sanding work done to it and bare feet sculpted on. |

From the creator: This has been a dream figure for me (and one I'll probably upgrade eventually). Quantum Leap is such a fun show and Scott Backula's Sam Beckett is one of TV's best protagonist! So, I found an old Star Trek figure the other day and noticed immediately that the head sculpt was based on none other than Scott Bakula! I immediately bought it and went looking for a body to fit the head into, that's when I found a random figure with a cool softs good jacket and an outfit that screamed 90's (turns out it was from a different sci-fi show, Farscape) A repaint and some modifications around the neck area later and we got Dr. Sam Beckett! |

From the creator: My favorite TV show of all time is Quantum Leap. So with my love for that show and my love for the 4.5" Playmates action figures, I thought it'd be cool to have Sam and Al as figures, too. Admiral Al Calavicci was made from a heavily modified Playmates Picard figure. I sanded the shoulders, re-sculpted the jacket collar, shirt and a tie with apoxie. The head is a Riker-head. I re-sculpted pretty much everything except the eyes and nose. For the jacket, I mixed a dark green with a silver metallic color. Of course he needed the Ziggy-handlink and a cigar. The cigar was sculpted with apoxie, the handlink was made from a small piece of styrofoam. |

From the creator: (The Leap Home version) Well, I finally made him. He’s based on my favorite episode of the show and I found basically all the parts in my custom fodder box. The real trick with this one was removing the neck and dremeling inside the head, but I finally figured it out. Splash of paint, and Bob’s your uncle. (Dr. Sam Beckett version) The easiest custom ever, I think it cost me like $11 total. If you’re a fan of Back to the Future, you’ll have a lot of fun with this show. |
