Welcome Back to Rodvision.  That is, if there is anybody there, and this column is not just taking up space here at Al’s Place.

Whilst getting royally beaten at several frames of Pool the other day, by The Rod’s good friend, El Presidente of Spain, The Rod was thinking about Leaps (This was WHY The Rod was beaten, see the dedication to this column!) Sam could have, but never made:

Sam could have Leapt into Artoo Deetoo from Star Wars!

Think about the possibilities.

We, the fans of Star Wars would FINALLY be able to understand what the hell he is bleeping about!!

There would also be hours and hours worth of comedic dialogue between Al, Sam (R2) & C3P0.

The Rod thinks that could be a GREAT plot for the next QL film.

Picture this, the reason Al cant find Sam, is because he is serving drinks aboard a Rebel frigate or something.

The Rod knows what you, The Rods fans are thinking: 

“What is The Rod talking about?”

Well, if you review what was to have been the original end to mirror image and the original plans for the next series.  This would have had Al using the Quantum Leap accelerator to find Sam, to find himself leaping into a strange bar, in the distant future, as a woman! 

Perhaps that strange bar could have been Mos Eisley Space port??

Alternatively, you could have Sam leaping into Yoda, how would he have said “Oh Boy”?

Now THAT The Rod WOULD pay to see!

What about Sam leaping into Vader??  Can’t imagine the waiting room would have held him!

Sam could have leapt into any number of crossovers.   Perhaps its this marketability that has drawn Sci FI into bringing back QL, they could incorporate any of their original productions with QL for a one off episode.

Either way, The Rod awaits this new movie and hopefully a new series with great anticipation.
