Today, The Rod would like to suggest what may have been considered BAD about Quantum Leap. Lets be honest here, NO TV program is EVER perfect (Except Knight Rider of course!! ;-) )

Quantum Badness

The Rod has heard and read criticisms of Quantum Leap which included the following:

• Each Quantum Leap Episode was very ‘samey’, Sam always had to complete his mission, then leap and never back home.
• Mirror Image left the viewers more confused than satisfied. What sort of ending was that??
• Some episodes were too moral. Almost boring.

Of course, having read these criticisms, The Rod had a criticism of His own:

No RodKinis!!!

The Rod has gotta say it, but He does disagree with a couple of the suggestions above. Some episodes could be perceived as ‘samey’, but the character interplay between Sam and Al always was different and often amusing.

Quantum Improvements

Despite any criticisms levied towards it, Quantum Leap was a Great Show. However, it did lack some ingredients:

Car chases.

Explosions.

Car stunts.

RodKinis

The Rod could point out several TV shows that survived on car chases alone. So what if QL had car chases as well as its storyline content? Would this perhaps inject the show with a new twist, a new ingredient that could make it viable for a new generation?

Look at the shows on TV now, gone are the 10-minute car chases, in are such shows as Friends and Sex in The City (Long drawn out series, past their best). Shows which focus on the comedic struggles of groups of thirysomethings with day-to-day life.

Forgive The Rod, but that AINT entertainment. Why you ask?? Because EVERY damn TV show is doing this now:

Will and Grace (Yawn)

That show (Which does NOT deserve The Rod’s ability to remember the title) with the Gay dude and the Hot Rodette living together)

Frasier (As good as it was)

Spin City (Had potential)

Where have the shows that provide the machismo gone? You don’t get see 4 fugitives ripping up LA in their GMC "G Series" Van whilst being pursued by MP’s anymore, nor do you see a lone crusader in his black Transam. Hell, where are the Ford Torinos?????

If QL is to be successful again, perhaps it should redress the balance; bring the car chases and explosions BACK to TV, and AWAY from the flicks.

Sure, The Rod WILL take some fire over this one, the QL purists may not WANT the leaper to have car chases and vehicular stunts and explosions. To them, The Rod reminds them:
