The Rod recently had a second chance.  This got Him thinking.

Its not every day you get second chances, unless that is, you are Sam Beckett.  He was able not only to have some second chances himself (saving his brother, mother and father and Al’s Marriage) but he also got to GIVE people second chances.

Now that Quantum Leap is gonna be getting ITS second chance, The Rod got to thinking:

 Why DID Donald P Bellisario create Quantum Leap? 

Was there something he felt was unfulfilled in his life that he felt he had to create a show, purely dedicated to the ideals of a “second chance” for lost souls.

Maybe DPB felt that he had to start encouraging people not to wait for a second chance, BUT to try and make the right choice the 1st time.  For all we know, Quantum Leap could have been meant as one of the greatest social commentaries of all time.

Donald P Bellisario’s Second Chance?

Remember the episode “Lee Harvey Oswald (Not sure if it was pt 1 or 2) where Sam is handing out propaganda on the street, and a patriotic American hurls abuse at him?  Well, rumour has it that Mr Bellisario was that very same American.

Perhaps that Episode was inspired by DPB’s wish to have a second chance at that particular moment in time?  He could prevent the death of JFK.   This could have had all sorts of major ramifications.  Just think, there would be no conspiracy theories, perhaps we would be able to trust our Governments!!

 

New Series

The Rod has again been thinking about possible storylines for the new movie and hopefully series.

There has been a lot of speculation (Hell, The Rod even speculated Himself) about Sam leaping into the future.  This got The Rod thinking…..

If Ziggy tells Sam who or what he has leaped to save based on historical data, how will Ziggy be able to help Sam with any missions that occur in the future, as obviously they will not have happened yet?

Any ideas??
