09/09/2002 The Rod wishes to share a thought He had whilst attending a server outage. For 5 years, Dr Sam Beckett leapt through time, putting right what once went wrong. The Rod asks, How long can Sam go on? Through those 5 years, Sam kept going, spurred on by the thought of one day leaping Home. Now that he is unable to get home, what keeps him going? The romantics among you, The Hot Rodders and Rodettes will of course say: "Rod, Sam does it because he wants to help people" In answer to this, The Rod says put yourself in Sam's position, The Bartender already told Sam that the leaps were going to get harder. Sam is also without Al, so how exactly will Sam deal with these harder leaps? How will he know, what wrong, he has to put right. If the leaps are harder, and Sam is alone, then prospects of these more difficult leaps with No help, and No leap home, would surely demoralise our brave hero, Sam Beckett. Where is his incentive to complete these missions. The Rod puts it to you, His great fans, What do YOU think would or should keep Sam going? (therod@quantumleap-alsplace.com) How to Leap Home, Sam! The Rod has been thinking (Never a good thing). As a result, Professor Rod KNOWS how Sam can leap home. Remember "The Leap
Back"? Al wrote a letter to Gooshie (In the future) telling him how to open the
Imaging Chamber door (and incorporating the codes to do so). Al would then be able to stop Sam from ever leaping. Ok, not quite the same as Leaping home, and of course if this happened, then Sam would never have put right any wrongs. Well, Sam wanted home didn't he? ;-) Should you wish to email The Rod about this article or ANY QL related matter, or even if you Rodettes out there just want to send Him fan mail/pictures. You can do so by contacting Him at therod@quantumleap-alsplace.com Keep Leaping Sam, maybe one day YOU can
be The Rod. |
