Rodvision

Before The Rod came to Al’s Place, Home of The Rod. Nobody outside of the Sci Fi Board had heard of Him, or even cared to listen to what He had to say. Thanks to Rodvision, all this has changed.

Last week, The Rod was onsite dealing with a server problem and a couple of PC failures, when He spotted one of the customers READING Rodvision!!!!!

The Rod enquired about this, of course without revealing who He really was. Turns out she loves Rodvision and Al’s Place.

The Rod would like to lead a standing ovation to The Bartender. Brian, thanks for making The Rod a Star.

Let The Show go on……………

Just Another Time Travel Show?

Todays television has a wealth of Sci Fi, time travel and space travel shows. With this in mind, answer The Rod a question:

What can be done to distinguish The New Quantum Leap from the rest of them?

As always, The Rod has some suggestions:

(1) In almost every scene, cheerleaders would be a definite ratings boost

(2) In almost every scene, bikini clad (or less ;-) )women would differentiate this. Hey Sarah Michelle Gellar, why don't you sign up!! ;-)

(3) Lots of car chases with 'classic' muscle or sports cars, well it worked for "The Dukes of Hazzard" & :Knight Rider"

(4) Lots of explosions, some aerial battles perhaps?

(5) A GOOD storyline, well THAT worked well for the original Quantum Leap.

Face it, the programming on TV just isnt what is used to be. The Young Rod used to love Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, Airwolf, Blue Thunder, TJ Hooker, CHiPs, BJ and the Bear, Automan and even Manimal.

What these shows had, todays shows LACK. Ok, you have great special effects, but these cost so much, that you don't usually get that many effects in one episode of a show.

With the older shows, visual effects werentg always great, but the stunts themselves wrote the shows if you ask The Rod.

The Dukes of Hazzard was one of Little Rod's favourites. Effects needed for this show were simple. Just about a gazillion stock cars for stunts, some explosions and a tiny bit of technology. Same with Knight Rider, ChiPs, Airwolf or Blue Thunder. (Knight Rider and Dukes of Hazzard also had the added bonus of lots of scantily clad women!!)

Perhaps in the spirit of making this revised Quantum Leap different from the rest and of course more importantly a success, Sci Fi need to go back in time themselves.

If you have any suggestions, email them to The Rod. Perhaps The Bartender will permit The Rod to publish them on this site for the world to see. Now please, keep them clean!!

The Rod will be engaging El Presidente in a little tournament of Pool this week, of course when The Rod returns next week, He will inform you Hot Rodders and Rodettes of the scores. I.E How BADLY The Rod beats him by!

(If you want to gamble, dont bet on El Presidente!!)

Should you wish to email The Rod about this article or ANY QL related matter, or even if you Rodettes out there just want to send Him fan mail/pictures. You can do so by contacting Him at therod@quantumleap-alsplace.com

Keep Leaping Sam, maybe one day YOU can be The Rod.
