Introduction:

Addison Allison Augustine is an ex-Army Intelligence officer who now works with Project Quantum Leap. After Dr. Ben Song takes an unauthorized trip to the past using the Project Accelerator, Addison becomes his constant companion and guide in the past, who appears to him in the form of a hologram that only he can see and hear.

Addison Augustine is portrayed by Caitlin Bassett.




























Biography:

Addison had a difficult relationship with her father, Alexander Augustine, an emotionally distant, disgraced former U.S. Navy Officer. During a leap, Ben and Addison are able to correct the historical record to rehabilitate his reputation.[1]

Addison joined the U.S. Army after school, as an Intelligence Officer. At some point early in her Military career she was stationed at Fort Rucker with Tom Westfall. [2] She later served in Afghanistan [3], where she guided Green Berets on their missions[4].

A few years before 2018 [5] she joined Project Quantum Leap, nearly 30 years after it was originally shut down. There she trained to become a Leaper with Dr. Ben Song as her hologram guide and link to the present time. In 2018, [6] the two became a couple and moved in together.

On the night of their engagement party in 2022, Ben got a phone call from Janis Calavicci and chose to enter the Project Accelerator to go to the past so he could try to save Addison's life. She then served as Ben's hologram guide.

In 2023 Ben vanished and PQL were unable to find him anywhere. After two years the government decided he must've died somehow and he was declared deceased. The Program was shut down and everyone went their separate ways. Addison later described this as "the darkest period of her life."[7] Ian Wright did not give up and was able to locate him a year later. By that point, Addison had taken a job as a military tactical trainer, and had been in a relationship with Tom Westfall for eight months. [7]

Addison quickly rejoined the project as Ben's hologram guide, except for a brief hiatus where he needed space to process news of her new relationship.[8] Tom eventually proposes to Addison. She accepts but later changes her mind, ending the relationship.[9]

When Hannah Carson provides a "swap code" to allow someone to switch places with Ben so that he can return home,[10] Addison insists on being the leaper. However, the code instead leaps her to Ben's location in the past, and they are physically reunited.[11]
